Elan 350 has received a prestigious award: Elan 350 wins European Yacht of the Year 2011 Performance Cruiser at the fair in Düsseldorf.

The Awards follow exhaustive testing over many months
Expert Jury were representatives of European magazines that deal with nautical. Elan 350 was presented for the first time at the fair Internavtika in Portoroz.

Elan Marine produce 40 instances of this successful yacht in summer 2011. At this year’s fair Elan – Marine also presented the sailing boat 210, which was named toy. She was well received, as Elan-Marine is already receiving the first contract, there are still messages in society

What about sailing across the ocean? Have it to be a scary experience? It certainly sounds like it because of all the stories we get told. I have heard many horror stories, but are they true?
I do agree that nothing influence to sailors more than the pleasure of telling stories of near miss death situations.
Inner Ocean Sailing Adventures
My and others experience has been that crossing the ocean safely and without incidents. In fact the ocean is a peaceful place, with gales happening statistically a tiny percentage of the time. For example the charts indicate in the South Pacific above 31 degrees of latitude, the days recorded with winds over 40 miles per hour is between one and two days in any 105 day period and mostly the figure is zero.
Ocean Adventures
My most scary sailing in the ocean was my first time. Neither the wind not the seas were that high, but the newness of the experience did give me a fright. The ocean as a dangerous place is very subjective, based on our emotional state not the sea conditions at the time. I reassert that the ocean is not dangerous, only seems so based on our imagination and lack of familiarity.

For example, later I was experiencing much stronger winds, larger seas and was loving it. Needless to say, through out all of this, my boat while only 33 feet long never failed to bounce along safely no matter what the conditions.
